Recent years have seen a tremendous growth in the number of students from the Middle East choosing Australia over other traditional study destinations like the UK and the US. Over the last five years there has been an overall increase of 148% to September 2006 according to Australian Education International. Total enrolments grew from 3,218 enrolments in September 2002 to 7,974 enrolments in September 2006.
